DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONCE AGAIN SERVING INTERNSHIP IN ENTEL
After a two-year break caused by the global pandemic, which put on hold many activities that included some form of gathering and freedom of travel, during the summer months of 2022 Entel once again hosted domestic and international students who decided to implement their summer internship program in Entel.
In addition to the students of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade, successful cooperation with the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE), which represents the largest organization of this type in the world providing students with the possibility to do their summer internship in one of the 80 countries worldwide. In this way, students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and to learn more, not only about the technical details of the field of science they are studying, but also to become acquainted with other countries, their specific characteristics, inhabitants and their way of life, as well as other elements that represent the particularities of each country. Besides, a longer stay abroad allows students to get to know themselves better, to face challenges that they might not have faced if they had not found themselves in the new life circumstances that participation in the IAESTE program put in front of them.
The program is also based on support and cooperation with companies such as Entel, the companies that recognize the importance of the said activities, realizing that the transfer of experience and knowledge represents not only the corporate social responsibility (CSR), but also a way to spread the good word about the company and business practices as far as possible.
In 2022, Entel hosted final-year students of the architecture, construction and mechanical engineering faculties from Oman, Switzerland and Thailand. There is still a noticeable trend that students come to internship from countries from which their colleagues have already undergone the same program in previous years, which supports belief that the good word of the company spreads through new generations.
Every year, Entel approaches student internships with the same goal: to enable future engineers and colleagues to gain a better insight into the work and organization of a consulting company such as Entel, acquire more knowledge and experience in terms of specific expertise and the use of modern software tools on real projects in the energy sector, but to also return, at the end of the program, to their homes with good impressions and memories, not only of Entel, but also of Serbia as the host country. By doing so, these young people have been representing the best ambassadors of Entel and Serbia abroad for years, and we truly believe that this practice will continue in the years to come.
