WHEN YOU ENJOY YOUR WORK AND SHOW PERSISTENCE AND TENACITY, SUCCESS IS INEVITABLE   2/3

JSC Urbanizam i arhitektura has recorded a growth in contracting and stabilisation of business operations in more than half year. The knowledge and experience of the engineers and technicians of all professions realising the agreed design services through coordinated activities, is crucial for the implementation of signed contracts, as well as for acquisition of the new ones.  We asked three colleagues, a structural engineer, an architect and electrical engineer from JSC Urbanizam i arhitektura with considerable experience in design and supervision over the construction of building structures what their experiences were, what working in Energoprojekt provided for them, how they coordinated professional and private obligations and what motivated them.

Colleague Milka Ilic Masic has been employed with EP Urbanizam i arhitektura since 2008. As a master engineer of architecture with nearly 15 years of experience, she currently holds the position of a senior engineer.

“Even though I worked during the course of my studies in a small architectural bureau and simultaneously at my father’s law firm, my first real job was in Energoprojekt. To be surrounded by fellow engineers of all disciplines is a big advantage compared to working in small bureaus. Daily cooperation with structural, traffic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic engineers and landscape architects is certainly a horizon expanding experience. She recounts, “in the course of 15 years of work, the most complex project I led was the reconstruction and upgrade of Narxoz University in Almaty in Kazakhstan, not only in terms of scope and complexity of work, but also because the project was practically being realised on three continents. It was a challenge in its own right to coordinate the desires of renowned New York bureau HМА2 which provided architectural design, with the demands and very rigid Kazakh regulations. Apart from that, among my personal favourites and the most interesting projects is a pedestrian passageway at Ada Mall, which, as a purely engineering structure, was challenging to give a soul to.“

Even though she is not a big fan of social networks, apart from the standard means of informing herself, Milka admits that she finds plenty of information on the greatest achievements in architecture on Instagram. When asked who of her colleagues had a significant impact on her professional development, Milka replied: “I recently learned some very interesting things about the life and work of Dragisa Brasovan. Even though we are only colleagues in terms of the education, his work and life currently have the biggest impact on my professional and personal development“, and added that, working in EP Urbanizam i arhitektura, she had already realised one important goal – achieving independence in her work.
